Sensex down 218pts; RCoVL in Sensex

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 47 points at 9858. The index could barely move a point higher to touch a high of 9859 before slipping into the negative zone.

The index is now down 218 points at 9692.

Grasim has shed 3.7% to Rs 1,710. HDFC is down over 3% at Rs 1,170.

Reliance Communication Ventures (RCovL) has made its entry in the index stocks. The stock is marginally up at Rs 222.
