Sensex down 219pts; breadth turns -ve

The Sensex is now down 219 points at 15,538.

The NSE Nifty is down 67 points at 4,694.

Wipro and Larsen & Toubro have slumped 5% each to Rs 412 and Rs 2,586, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has tumbled 4.6% to Rs 221, and Tata Steel has shed 3.5% at Rs 656.

Grasim has slipped over 3% to Rs 2,545, and Hindalco has dropped nearly 3% to Rs 168.

Hindustan Unilever has declined 2.5% to Rs 247. ACC is down over 2% at Rs 818.

NTPC, TCS and Ranbaxy have dropped 2% each at Rs 187, Rs 882 and Rs 474, respectively.

BHEL has surged 4.5% to Rs 1,710.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,512 stocks traded so far, 1,241 have declined, 1,189 have advanced and 82 are unchanged.
