Sensex down 21pts; HDFC Bank slips 4%

The Sensex is now down 21 points at 12,907.

Satyam has surged 2.7% to Rs 448. BHEL has gained 2.3% at Rs 2,470.

ICICI Bank, Tata Steel and Hero Honda are the other notable gainers.

HDFC Bank has shed 3.6% to Rs 1,009. NTPC and HLL have slipped around 2% each to Rs 128 and Rs 232, respectively.

Grasim and HDFC have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 2,621 and Rs 1,521, respectively.

TCS and Reliance Energy are down 1% each at Rs 1,119 and Rs 463, respectively.

Out of 2,509 stocks traded so far, 1,632 have declined, 808 have advanced and 69 are unchanged.
