The NSE Nifty is down a point at 5,111.
Cipla has shed 2.7% at Rs 218. Tata Steel has dropped 1.8% to Rs 789.
Wipro has slipped 1.5% to Rs 459. ACC and Hindalco are down 1% each at Rs 775 and Rs 187, respectively.
Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has surged over 3% to Rs 254.
HDFC Bank has rallied 1.8% to Rs 1,525. Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications have moved up 1.4% each to Rs 486 and Rs 585, respectively.
Bharti Airtel and HDFC are up around 1% each at Rs 934 and Rs 2,719, respectively.
The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,315 stocks traded so far, 1,377 have advanced, 876 have declined and 62 are unchanged.
