Sensex down 230pts; HDFC Bank gains 3%

The Sensex is now down 230 points at 13,420.

ICICI Bank has tumbled over 5% to Rs 859. Hero Honda has plunged 3.5% to Rs 681.

Satyam and Bajaj Auto have shed around 2.5% each to Rs 449 and Rs 2,746, respectively.

ONGC, ITC, HLL, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors and Wipro are down around 2% each to Rs 817, Rs 167, Rs 185, Rs 1,561, Rs 823 and Rs 602, respectively.

HDFC Bank has rallied 2.5% to Rs 976.

Out of 2,550 stocks traded so far, 1,293 have advanced, 1,198 have declined and 59 are unchanged.
