Sensex down 232pts in early trades

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 154 points at 14,896. The index is now down 232 points at 14,818.

Ranbaxy and Sterlite have plunged over 3.5% each to Rs 472 and Rs 614, respectively.

HDFC Bank, HDFC and Reliance Infrastructure have tumbled nearly 3% each to Rs 1,302, Rs 2,375 and Rs 1,012, respectively.

BHEL and Maruti have shed 2.3% each at Rs 1,743 and Rs 650, respectively.

DLF, Jaiprakash Associates and NTPC have slipped over 2% each to Rs 519, Rs 170 and Rs 174, respectively.

SBI and Larsen & Toubro have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 1,495 and Rs 2,636, respectively.

 

Reliance, Reliance Communications, Tata Steel and ICICI Bank are down around 1.5% each.
