Sensex down 234pts; BHEL slumps 8%

The Sensex is now down 234 points at 15,410.

The NSE Nifty is down 71 points at 4,663.

BHEL has slumped nearly 8% to Rs 1,895. Larsen & Toubro and Mahindra & Mahindra have tumbled around 5% each to Rs 2,869 and Rs 662, respectively.

Wipro has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 409. ICICI Bank has dropped 3.5% to Rs 743, and Tata Steel has shed 3% at Rs 672.

Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, HDFC and DLF have slipped around 2.5% each to Rs 804, Rs 1,286, Rs 2,325 and Rs 631, respectively.

NTPC has declined 2% to Rs 193. Maruti is down 1.8% at Rs 815.

Hindustan Unilever has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 233. Hindalco has advanced over 1% to Rs 167.
