Sensex down 243pts; Hindalco zooms 5%

The Sensex is now down 243 points at 19,047.

ONGC has plunged over 4% to Rs 1,234. HDFC Bank has shed 3.5% at Rs 1,560.

SBI and ICICI Bank have dropped 3% each to Rs 2,202 and Rs 1,168, respectively.

Reliance Communications has slipped 2.5% to Rs 708. Bharti Airtel and Grasim have declined 1.7% each to Rs 885 and Rs 3,550, respectively.

Hindalco has soared 5% to Rs 198. ACC has surged 3.4% to Rs 1,063.

Hindustan Unilever has rallied 2% to Rs 195. Reliance Energy has advanced 1% to Rs 1,839.

Out of 2,767 stocks traded so far, 1,681 have declined, 1,019 have advanced and 67 are unchanged.
