Sensex down 243pts; Maruti, Tata St up 2%

The Sensex is now down 243 points at 20,485.

Bharti Airtel has slumped 5.7% to Rs 855. ICICI Bank has plunged over 4% to Rs 1,350.

Mahindra & Mahindra has shed 2% at Rs 740. Larsen & Toubro has dropped 1.8% to Rs 4,090.

ITC and TCS have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 221 and Rs 947,  respectively.

BHEL, Reliance Communications and Ambuja Cements have declined over 1% each to Rs 2,444, Rs 796 and Rs 136, respectively.

Ranbaxy, DLF, Hindalco and Reliance Energy are also down 1% each at Rs 395, Rs 1,193, Rs 200 and Rs 2,450, respectively.

Maruti has rallied 2% to Rs 873, and Tata Steel has surged 1.8% to Rs 854.

Out of 2,848 stocks traded so far, 1,408 have declined, 1,395 have advanced and 45 are unchanged.
