Sensex down 24pts; Hindalco, ICICI up 2%

The Sensex is now down 24 points at 19,942.

Tata Motors has slipped 2.6% to Rs 751, and Hindustan Unilever has shed 2.2% at Rs 204.

TCS has dropped 1.8% to Rs 1,042. BHEL and Mahindra & Mahindra have declined 1.7% each to Rs 2,696 and Rs 767, respectively.

NTPC is down 1.5% at Rs 242. Reliance Energy, Reliance Communications and HDFC Bank are the other major losers.

Hindalco and ICICI Bank have rallied nearly 2% each to Rs 192 and Rs 1,270, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and DLF have moved up over 1% each at Rs 972 and Rs 1,023, respectively.

Out of 2,788 stocks traded so far, 1,941 have advanced, 808 have declined and 39 are unchanged.
