Sensex down 24pts; Maruti, HLL weak

The Sensex is now down 24 points at 12,904.

Satyam has surged 1.7% to Rs 444. SBI, HDFC Bank and Hindalco have spurted over 1% each to Rs 1,039, Rs 1,059 and Rs 184, respectively.

Tata Steel and Wipro are the other notable gainers.

HDFC has slipped 1.4% to Rs 1,524. Maruti and HLL are down 1% each at Rs 950 and Rs 234, respectively.

NTPC, Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel are the other prominent losers.
