Sensex down 24pts; Ranbaxy, Cipla soar

The Sensex is now down 24 points at 15,675.

Ranbaxy has zoomed 7.7% to Rs 367. Cipla and Maruti have soared 3.7% each to Rs 193 and Rs 839, respectively.

Bajaj Auto, Reliance and Infosys have rallied over 2% each to Rs 2,404, Rs 1,943 and Rs 2,031, respectively.

Tata Motors, Satyam and Mahindra & Mahindra have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 737, Rs 494 and Rs 793, respectively.

ACC has plunged 4.5% to Rs 1,023. Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank and BHEL have dropped around 3% each to Rs 917, Rs 1,205 and Rs 1,738, respectively.

Ambuja Cements and Larsen & Toubro have slipped 2.3% each to Rs 125 and Rs 2,514, respectively.

Grasim and Hindustan Unilever are down 1.5% each to Rs 2,924 and Rs 199, respectively.

Out of 2,536 stocks traded so far, 1,447 have advanced, 1,014 have declined and 75 are unchanged.
