Sensex down 264pts; Metal, Teck indices drop 3%

The Sensex is now down 264 points at 10,594.

The BSE Metal and Teck indices have dropped 3% each to 8241 and 2556, respectively.

All Sensex stocks continue to trade in negative zone.

Reliance Communications and Hindalco have plunged nearly 5% each to Rs 256 and Rs 173, respectively.

Tata Motors and Wipro have dropped 4% each to Rs 740 and Rs 483, respectively.

Satyam, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Maruti, Gujarat Ambuja, Grasim, Dr.Reddy's and Infosys have declined 3-4% each.

Out of 2,262 stocks traded so far, 1,554 have declined, 648 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
