Sensex down 266pts; TCS, Infosys down 3%

The Sensex is now down 266 points at 17,468.

The NSE Nifty is down 60 points at 5,132.

Bajaj Auto has plunged 3.8% to Rs 2,320, and Satyam has slumped 3.5% to Rs 442.

TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra have tumbled 3% each to Rs 890 and Rs 622, respectively.

Infosys, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have shed 2.7% each to Rs 1,585, Rs 1,113 and Rs 1,502, respectively.

HDFC has dropped 2.5% to Rs 2,584. Tata Motors, Reliance, Bharti Airtel and SBI have slipped 2% each to Rs 694, Rs 2,451, Rs 851 and Rs 2,137, respectively.

Wipro and Hindustan Unilever have declined 1.7% each to Rs 424 and Rs 216, respectively.

Cipla has soard 4% to Rs 196. Hindalco and Grasim have gained 1.3% each at Rs 192 and Rs 2,839, respectively.

Out of 2,624 stocks traded so far, 1,592 have declined, 949 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
