Sensex down 267pts; L&T drops 5%

The Sensex is now down 267 points at 10,085.

Larsen & Toubro has slumped over 5% each to Rs 2,021. Wipro and Reliance Communications have shed nearly 5% each to Rs 447 and Rs 237, respectively.

ITC, NTPC, Grasim and Hindalco have dropped over 4% each to Rs 167, Rs 109, Rs 1,894 and Rs 157, respectively.

Reliance Energy has rallied 2% to Rs 446. Ranbaxy and Cipla have gained around 1% each at Rs 354 and Rs 220, respectively.

Out of 2,431 stocks traded so far, 1,889 have declined, 474 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
