Sensex down 268pts; Bajaj Auto, HDFC weak

The Sensex is now down 268 points at 17,467.

The NSE Nifty is down 64 points at 5,127.

Bajaj Auto and HDFC have plunged 2.5% each to Rs 2,350 and Rs 2,584, respectively.

Satyam and ICICI Bank have slipped over 2% each to Rs 448 and Rs 1,119, respectively.

Reliance and SBI have dropped 2% each to Rs 2,453 and Rs 2,137, respectively.

Infosys, Reliance Energy, Mahindra & Mahindra and HDFC Bank have shed around 1.5% each at Rs 1,604, Rs 1,570, Rs 632 and Rs 1,521, respectively.

BHEL and Bharti Airtel have declined 1.3% each to Rs 2,065 and Rs 858, respectively.

Cipla is up 1.3% at Rs 191.
