Sensex down 276pts; DLF, Tata Steel drop 5%

The Sensex is now down 276 points at 9,130.

Wipro has slumped over 8% to Rs 230. Sterlite and Reliance Infrastructure have plunged 6.5% each to Rs 255 and Rs 483, respectively.

BHEL, Tata Steel, Reliance Communications and DLF have tumbled around 5% each to Rs 1,344, Rs 204, Rs 177 and Rs 207, respectively.

NTPC and Ranbaxy have shed 4.5% each at Rs 170 and Rs 209, respectively.

Reliance has dropped 4% to Rs 1,106. ITC and TCS have declined 3.7% each to Rs 163 and Rs 516, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Hindalco are down over 3% each to Rs 697 and Rs 51, respectively.

 

Sun Pharma has moved up 2.8% to Rs 1,131. Jaiprakash Associates has advanced over 1% to Rs 69.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,357 stocks traded so far, 1,463 have declined, 811 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
