Sensex down 27pts; Bajaj slumps 6%

The Sensex is now down 27 points at 12,857.

Bajaj Auto has plunged 6% to Rs 2,937. HDFC Bank has dropped nearly 3% to Rs 980.

HDFC and Wipro have slipped over 2% each to Rs 1,480 and Rs 562, respectively.

Maruti has declined 1.7% to Rs 944. Grasim, Hero Honda, BHEL and TCS are down over 1% each to Rs 2,595, Rs 750, Rs 2,437 and Rs 1,103, respectively.

Ranbaxy has surged 2.3% to Rs 421. ICICI Bank and Reliance Communicatons have advanced over 1% each to Rs 736 and Rs 377, respectively.

The market breadth has turned negative - out of 2,444 stocks traded so far, 1,195 have declined, 1,166 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
