Sensex down 27pts; BHEL, NTPC soar

The Sensex is now down 27 points at 14,256.

BHEL and NTPC have soared over 4% each to Rs 2,552 and Rs 143, respectively. Hindalco has surged 3.5% to Rs 181.

Cipla and Reliance Communications have advanced over 2% each to Rs 250 and Rs 403, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Tata Steel have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 403 and Rs 516, respectively. Reliance is up over 1% at Rs 1,385.

ITC and Wipro have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 174 and Rs 635, respectively. Tata Motors has slipped over 2% to Rs 907.

Satyam and ICICI Bank have shed 1.7% each to Rs 468 and Rs 969, respectively. Larsen & Toubro has delcined 1.4% to Rs 1,591.

Out of 2,612 stocks traded so far, 1,437 have advanced, 1,116 have declined and 59 are unchanged.
