Sensex down 280pts; Cipla gains 2%

The Sensex is now down 280 points at 19,751.

ONGC and TCS have plunged 3.3% each to Rs 1,199 and Rs 1,010, respectively.

SBI, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and Hindalco have tumbled 3% each to Rs 2,335, Rs 923, Rs 722 and Rs 206, respectively.

NTPC has shed 2.5% at Rs 241. BHEL, Reliance Communications and HDFC Bank have slipped 2% each to Rs 2,505, Rs 745 and Rs 1,695, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Wipro have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 1,186 and Rs 487, respectively.

Cipla has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 213. ACC has gained 1.7% at Rs 1,121, and Satyam has added 1% to Rs 416.
