Sensex down 289pts; Hindalco, Tata Mot weak

The Sensex is now down 289 points at 19,742.

Bharti Airtel has plunged 4.7% to Rs 908, and ONGC has tumbled over 4% to Rs 1,187.

Hindalco, HDFC Bank and Tata Motors have dropped around 3.5% each to Rs 205, Rs 1,669 and Rs 719, respectively.

NTPC and BHEL have shed 2.7% each to Rs 240 and Rs 2,493, respectively. TCS has slipped 2.5% to Rs 1,018.

SBI, Reliance Communications, Grasim and Wipro have declined 2% each to Rs 2,362, Rs 745, Rs 3,660 and Rs 486, respectively.

Cipla has gained 2.3% at Rs 214. ITC has advanced 1.8% to Rs 204, and Hindustan Unilever has added 1% to Rs 219.

Out of 2,896 stocks traded so far, 1,908 have advanced, 963 have declined and 25 are unchanged.
