Sensex down 28pts; tech stocks rally

The Sensex is exhibiting volatile movement in early trades. After opening 30 points higher at 20,903, the index touched a high of 20,908, and then slipped into red to a low of 20,804. The index is now down 28 points at 20,845.

Wipro has zoomed 3% to Rs 503. Satyam and Infosys have soared over 2% each to Rs 434 and Rs 1,698, respectively. TCS has gained 1.3% at Rs 1,003.

NTPC has surged over 2% to Rs 271, and Reliance Energy has moved up 1% to Rs 2,562.

While HDFC Bank has advanced 1% to Rs 1,732, ICICI Bank has declined 1.5% to Rs 1,313.

Hindustan Unilever and BHEL have slipped 1% each to Rs 232 and Rs 2,470, respectively.

Grasim, ONGC, ACC and Tata Motors are the other prominent losers.
