Sensex down 292pts; Bharti plunges 5%

The Sensex is now down 292 points at 13,937.

Cipla has slumped over 15% to Rs 215. Bharti Airtel has plunged nearly 5% to Rs 820.

Tata Steel, Reliance and ICICI Bank have tumbled around 3% each to Rs 542, Rs 1,545 and Rs 935, respectively.

SBI, ONGC and HDFC have shed around 2.7% each to Rs 1,115, Rs 934 and Rs 1,691, respectively.

HLL and Grasim are down over 2% each to Rs 210 and Rs 2,442, respectively.

Satyam has gained 1.6% at Rs 468.

Out of 2,471 stocks traded so far, 1,653 have declined, 747 have advanced and 71 are unchanged.
