Sensex down 30pts; HDFC drops 2.5%

The Sensex is now down 30 points at 11,473.

HDFC has dropped 2.5% to Rs 1,286. Bajaj Auto and Cipla have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 2,710 and Rs 248, respectively.

SBI, HDFC Bank, ITC and Larsen & Toubro are the other major losers.

NTPC and Reliance Energy are up 1% each at Rs 124 and Rs 465, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's, Tata Motors and NTPC are the other notable gainers.

Out of 2,442 stocks traded so far, 1,263 have declined, 1,103 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
