Sensex down 32 pts, SBI falls sharply

The market, which almost erased its entire losses in mid-noon trades, has reverted back to selling mode. Steep slide in banking, tech, auto and cement stocks has pushed the Sensex lower to 6,572 - down 32 points. The Nifty is down five points at 2,057.

SBI has crashed 3.51% (Rs 23) to Rs 643. HDFC Bank is down Rs 3 at Rs 549. ICICI Bank, however, is trading with gains at Rs 425 - up Rs 6 or 1.43%.

Reliance is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 561.

Wipro has slumped 2.45% (Rs 17) to Rs 664. While Satyam has lost 1.23% (Rs 5) to Rs 418, Infosys is down Rs 2 at Rs 2,227.

Reliance Energy has shed 1.64% (Rs 9) to Rs 535. While Tata Power has dipped 2.61% (Rs 9) to Rs 348, Tisco is down 2.38% (Rs 9) at Rs 384.

Gujarat Ambuja (down Rs 14 or 3.27% to Rs 411) and Grasim (down Rs 15 or 1.19% to Rs 1,219) continue to exhibit weak trends.

Tata Motors has dropped 4% (Rs 17) to Rs 407, and Maruti has scaled down 3.77% (Rs 16) to Rs 404. Bajaj is trading 1.91% higher (Rs 20) at Rs 1,084.

ONGC is up 1.82% (Rs 16) at Rs 910.
