Sensex down 330pts; BHEL drops 6%

The Sensex is now down 330 points at 14,209.

Hindalco has plunged 13.7% to Rs 149. BHEL has tumbled 6% to Rs 2,355, and Tata Motors has shed 4.5% to Rs 864.

Reliance Energy, Reliance Communications, HDFC, Gujarat Ambuja and Bajaj Auto have declined around 4% each to Rs 533, Rs 456, Rs 1,747, Rs 134 and Rs 2,936, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Maruti are down over 3% each to Rs 1,661 and Rs 912, respectively.

Out of 2,653 stocks traded so far, 2,286 have declined, 343 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
