Sensex down 337pts; Ranbaxy surges 3%

The Sensex is now down 337 points at 15,439.

BHEL has plunged over 4% to Rs 1,683. HDFC Bank has slumped 3.8% to Rs 1,173.

Tata Steel, Tata Motors and Reliance Communications have slipped around 3% each to Rs 683, Rs 709 and Rs 553, respectively.

SBI and Larsen & Toubro have shed 2.8% each to Rs 1,507 and Rs 2,472, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC, HDFC, Hindalco and Infosys have declined around 2.5% each to Rs 780, Rs 164, Rs 1,970, Rs 178 and Rs 1,987, respectively.

Reliance Energy, TCS, Grasim, Satyam, ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel are down around 2% each.

Ranbaxy has surged 2.5% to Rs 383.

Hindustan Unilever, Grasim, Tata Steel and Maruti are down around 2% each to Rs 200, Rs 2,901, Rs 690 and Rs 825, respectively.
