Sensex down 345points in early trades; ICICI Bank slumps 7%

The Sensex opened with a significant negative gap of 373 points at 8,401, touched a low of 8,387 and has recovered a bit. The index is now down 345 points at 8,429.

ICICI Bank has slumped 7.3% to Rs 322. Jaiprakash Associates has plunged 5.7% to Rs 60.

Maruti has tumbled over 5% to Rs 490. Reliance Infrastructure has shed 4.7% at Rs 435.

Hindalco and DLF have dropped 4.5% each at Rs 48 and Rs 214, respectively.

Reliance Communications has slipped 4.3% to Rs 190. BHEL, Satyam, HDFC Bank and Tata Motors have declined 4% each to Rs 1,181, Rs 224, Rs 852 and Rs 130, respectively.

 

Wipro and Sterlite are down nearly 4% each at Rs 214 and Rs 210, respectively.
