Sensex down 34pts; HLL, BHEL slips

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 34 points at 11,478.

Ranbaxy and Dr.Reddy's have slipped over 2% each to Rs 392 and Rs 1,444, respectively.

BHEL and HLL have shed 1.7% each to Rs 2,242 and Rs 232, respectively.

Reliance Energy has gained around 3% at Rs 461. HDFC and Hindalco have advanced over 2% each to Rs 1,318 and Rs 165, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Tata Steel are the other significant gainers.

Out of 2,588 stocks traded so far, 1,239 have advanced, 1,276 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
