Sensex down 35pts; L&T stands firm

The Sensex is now down 35 points at 11,897.

HDFC Bank has slipped over 1% to Rs 852.

TCS, Hero Honda and Cipla are down 1% each at Rs 986, Rs 713 and Rs 259, respectively.

Wipro, Bajaj Auto, SBI, Gujarat Ambuja and Satyam are the other significant gainers.

Larsen & Toubro has advanced 2% to Rs 2,603. Bharti Airtel and Dr.Reddy's are the other prominent gainers among the index stocks.

Out of 2,197 stocks traded so far, 1,018 have advanced, 1,111 have declined and 68 are unchanged.
