Sensex down 367pts; Rel Energy slumps 8%

The Sensex is now down 367 points at 17,406.

Reliance Energy has slumped almost 8% to Rs 1,348. Tata Steel and ACC have plunged around 6% each to Rs 781 and Rs 1,107, respectively.

Ranbaxy has tumbled 5.5% to Rs 409. NTPC has shed 5% to Rs 204.

SBI has dropped 4.7% to Rs 1,776. ONGC, Hindalco, Dr.Reddy's and Mahindra & Mahindra have slipped around 4% each to Rs 926, Rs 162, Rs 628 and Rs 723, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Reliance have declined 3% each to Rs 623 and Rs 2,409, respectively.

Grasim, ICICI Bank, Ambuja Cements, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors are down around 2.5% each to Rs 3,455, Rs 1,011, Rs 144, Rs 3,015 and Rs 761, respectively.

Satyam has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 453.

HDFC Bank and TCS are up around 1% each at Rs 1,418 and Rs 1,080, respectively.

Out of 2,715 stocks traded so far, 2,332 have declined, 348 have advanced and 35 are unchanged.
