Sensex down 368pts; NTPC drops 4%

The Sensex is now down 368 points at 19,662.

Bharti Airtel has slumped 5.3% to Rs 902, and ONGC has plunged 5% to Rs 1,177.

Hindalco has shed 4.4% at Rs 204, and NTPC has slipped nearly 4% to Rs 237.

DLF and Tata Motors have dropped 3.5% each to Rs 985 and Rs 719, respectively.

HDFC Bank has declined over 3% to Rs 1,675. BHEL and Reliance Communications have shed 2.7% each at Rs 2,490 and Rs 739, respectively.

HDFC and TCS are down 2.5% each at Rs 2,985 and Rs 1,018, respectively.

Cipla has gained 1.5% at Rs 212. ITC and Hindustan Unilever are up over 1% each at Rs 203 and Rs 219, respectively.

Out of 2,922 stocks traded so far, 1,831 have advanced, 1,072 have declined and 19 are unchanged.
