Sensex down 36pts; breadth negative

The Sensex is now down 36 points at 12,892.

Satyam has surged nearly 3% to Rs 449. SBI has advanced 1.3% to Rs 1,040.

Cipla, Hindalco and HDFC Bank are up 1% each at Rs 267, Rs 184 and Rs 1,056, respectively.

HDFC has shed 1.7% to Rs 1,520. HLL has slipped 1.4% to Rs 234.

Infosys, NTPC and Grasim are down around 1% each at Rs 2,075, Rs  130 and Rs 2,644, respectively.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,153 stocks traded so far, 1,262 have declined, 815 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
