Sensex down 36pts; Ranbaxy surges 4%

The Sensex is now down 36 points at 13,578.

Ranbaxy has flared up 4% to Rs 390. ONGC has surged 3.5% to Rs 845.

Tata Motors and Tata Steel have rallied nearly 2% each to Rs 873 and Rs 467, respectively.

Hero Honda has gained 1.3% at Rs 740.

SBI has shed 3% to Rs 1,225. Hindalco, ACC and Cipla have dropped around 2% each to Rs 174, Rs 1,038 and Rs 241, respectively.

HLL, Infosys, HDFC Bank, BHEL and NTPC are the other major losers.

Out of 2,423 stocks traded so far, 1,316 have declined, 1,039 have advanced and 68 are unchanged.
