Sensex down 374pts; HDFC Bank tanks 9%

The Sensex is now down 374 points at 9383.

HDFC Bank has crashed 9% to Rs 657. Reliance Energy has slipped 7.6% to Rs 373, and HLL has tumbled 7.3% to Rs 204.

Tata Power has shed 6.3% to Rs 433. Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto and Bharti Airtel have dropped over 5% each.

Hindalco and NTPC are up over 1% each at Rs 157 and Rs 101, respectively.

Out of a total of 2,328 stocks traded so far, 2,141 have declined, 155 have advanced and 32 are unchanged.
