Sensex down 37pts; Ranbaxy soars 4%

The Sensex is now down 37 points at 14,100.

Infosys has shed 2% to Rs 2,016, and Satyam has slipped 1.7% to Rs 467.

Tata Steel has tumbled nearly 2% to Rs 568. NTPC and Bharti Airtel are down around 1% each at Rs 157 and Rs 866, respectively.

Ranbaxy has soared 4.4% to Rs 364. Tata Motors has rallied 2% to Rs 758.

HDFC Bank and ACC have surged around 1.5% each to Rs 1,029 and Rs 829, respectively. HDFC has moved up 1.3% to Rs 1,732.

Out of 2,316 stocks traded so far, 1,274 have advanced, 958 have declined and 84 are unchanged.
