Sensex down 383pts; tech stocks rally

The Sensex has slipped back to lower levels and is now down 383 points at 17,082.

The NSE Nifty is down 123 points at 4,997.

Reliance Energy has tumbled nearly 7% to Rs 1,829. ONGC has shed 3.3% at Rs 964.

Reliance Communications and SBI have plunged over 3% each to Rs 626 and Rs 2,127, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever, Reliance, HDFC Bank and HDFC have slipped nearly 3% each to Rs 206, Rs 2,353, Rs 1,406 and Rs 2,721, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has dropped 2.4% to Rs 861. Bajaj Auto, Larsen & Toubro and DLF have declined over 2% each to Rs 2,170, Rs 3,453 and Rs 800, respectively.

NTPC and Ambuja Cements are down almost 2% each at Rs 199 and Rs 114, respectively.

Satyam and TCS have rallied over 3% each to Rs 423 and Rs 927, respectively. Infosys has gained 2.4% at Rs 1,589.
