Sensex down 38pts at 11,992

The Sensex has recovered most of its lost groung and is now down 38 points at 11,992.

Larsen & Toubro has surged 1.7% to Rs 2,753. ONGC has added 1.5% to Rs 1,360.

While HLL has spurted 1.3% to Rs 289, ITC has advanced over 1% to Rs 202.

Hindalco and Tata Steel have gained over 1% each at Rs 214 and Rs 661, respectively.

HDFC Bank has dropped 3.4% to Rs 821. ICICI Bank has slipped 2.2% to Rs 577.

Wipro has plunged over 3% to Rs 531. Satyam has slumped 3% to Rs 784. Infosys has shed 2% to Rs 3,232.

Out of 2,514 stocks traded so far, 1,462 have advanced, 986 have declined and the rest are unchanged.

Debutant Sun TV continues to lead the value chart with a turnover of Rs 524.35 crore followed by Reliance (Rs 141.65 crore), Satyam (Rs 126.28 crore), Reliance Capital (Rs 103.02 crore) and Infosys (Rs 88.65 crore).

Essar Oil tops the volume chart with trades of around 63.90 lakh shares followed IFCI (48.36 lakh), Sun TV (39.14 lakh), SAIL (36.78 lakh) and Recron Synthetics (29.64 lakh).
