Sensex down 38pts; breadth narrows

The Sensex touched a low of 15,531, and is now down 38 points at 15,559.

TCS and Wipro have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 1,030 and Rs 460, respectively. Satyam and Infosys have slipped over 1% each to Rs 437 and Rs 1,850, respectively.

Tata Motors and Maruti have shed 1.5% each to Rs 692 and Rs 864,  respectively.

SBI, Ranbaxy and Mahindra & Mahindra are down 1% each at Rs 1,624, Rs 415 and Rs 694, respectively.

HDFC has advanced 1.4% to Rs 2,133.

The market breadth has narrowed down - out of 2,700 stocks traded so far, 1,375 have advanced, 1,263 have declined and 62 are unchanged.
