Sensex down 38pts; HDFC sheds 3%

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 38 points at 12,416.

HDFC has shed 2.8% to Rs 1,492. Ranbaxy has slipped 2.3% to Rs 430.

Larsen & Toubro and HLL have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 1,251 and Rs 252, respectively.

Infosys, Wipro and Cipla are down over 1% each to Rs 1,825, Rs 519 and Rs 259, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has gained 1.7% at Rs 3,050. Reliance Energy has moved up 1.4% to Rs 490.

Reliance Communications and Hindalco have spurted 1.2% each to Rs 351 and Rs 173, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,336 stocks traded so far, 1,408 have advanced, 854 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
