After touching a low of 10,056, the Sensex is now consolidating its position. The index is down 38 points at 10,086. Bajaj Auto has rallied 2.2% to Rs 2,426. Wipro has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 499. Maruti (Rs 775), TCS (Rs 1,641), Satyam (Rs 750) and Bharti (Rs 366) are up over 1% each. Grasim has plunged 3.4% to Rs 1,640. Hindalco, Larsen & Toubro, ITC and HLL have shed 2% each to Rs 157, Rs 2,297, Rs 163 and Rs 234, respectively. HDFC Bank (Rs 746), Dr.Reddy's (Rs 1,266) and HDFC (Rs 1,322) are down over 1% each. The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,379 stocks traded so far, 1,503 have declined, 804 have advanced and 72 are unchanged. Tata Motors leads the value chart with a turnover of Rs 47.12 crore followed by IndoRama Textiles (Rs 41.97 crore), Maruti (Rs 38.65 crore), Reliance (Rs 35 crore) and Adlabs (Rs 31.94 crore). GSPC tops the volume chart with trades of around 52.20 lakh shares followed by IndoRama Textiles (Rs 50.18 lakh), Assam Company (33.02 lakh), SAIL (25.65 lakh) and McLeod Russel (19.80 lakh). |
