The Sensex is now down 393 points at 15,386. BHEL has plunged 5% to Rs 1,668. Hindalco and Larsen & Toubro have slumped 4% each to Rs 175 and Rs 2,442, respectively. HDFC Bank has shed 3.8% to Rs 1,173. Tata Motors, Tata Steel and Reliance Communications have slipped over 3% each to Rs 707, Rs 681 and Rs 552, respectively. Bharti Airtel, SBI and HDFC have dropped 2.8% each to Rs 899, Rs 1,508 and Rs 1,968, respectively. Ranbaxy has soared 3.6% to Rs 387. Ambuja Cements and Reliance Energy are up 1% each at Rs 126 and Rs 808, respectively. The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,102 stocks traded so far, 1,538 have declined, 518 have advanced and 46 are unchanged. |
