Sensex down 396pts; RCom plunges 6%

The Sensex is now down 396 points at 19,856.

The NSE Nifty is down 143 points at 5,931.

Reliance Communications (RCom) has tumbled nearly 6% to Rs 732. HDFC Bank has plunged 5.5% to Rs 1,688.

Tata Steel and Hindalco have dropped around 4% each to Rs 817 and Rs 190, respectively.

Tata Motors, BHEL and Reliance Energy have slipped over 3.5% each to Rs 741, Rs 2,329 and Rs 2,282, respectively.

DLF, NTPC and Maruti have shed 3% each at Rs 1,140, Rs 266 and Rs 842, respectively.

Reliance, HDFC and Wipro are down 2.7% each at Rs 3,075, Rs 2,826 and Rs 448, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Larsen & Toubro are down 2% each at Rs 719 and Rs 3,978, respectively.

TCS has surged 2.4% to Rs 961. ACC and ICICI Bank are up 1% each at Rs 883 and Rs 1,366, respectively.
