Sensex down 39pts; Tata Steel spurts 2%

The Sensex is now down 39 points at 15,007.

Tata Motors has soared 3.4% to Rs 740. Bajaj Auto has rallied 1.5% to Rs 2,138, and Maruti is up over 1% at Rs 803.

Satyam has advanced 1.5% to Rs 499, and Infosys has added 1% to Rs 2,016.

Tata Steel has surged 1.5% to Rs 635.

HDFC Bank and Reliance Communications have slipped 1.5% each to Rs 1,149 and Rs 544, respectively.

NTPC, ACC, ITC, HDFC, Ambuja Cements and Wipro are down 1% each at Rs 155, Rs 1,034, Rs 154, Rs 1,901, Rs 131 and Rs 520, respectively.

Out of 2,664 stocks traded so far, 1,334 have declined, 1,254 have advanced and 76 are unchanged.
