Sensex down 40pts; Maruti drops 6%

The Sensex is now down 40 points at 19,938.

Maruti has plunged nearly 6% to Rs 1,119. Mahindra & Mahindra has tumbled 4.5% to Rs 761.

Reliance and ACC have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 2,775 and Rs 1,062, respectively.

TCS, Hindustan Unilever, Cipla, HDFC and ITC are down over 1% each at Rs 1,055, Rs 217, Rs 182, Rs 2,782 and Rs 181, respectively.

Reliance Energy has surged 2.7% to Rs 1,768, and BHEL has gained 2.5% at Rs 2,676.

Bharti Airtel and ONGC are up 1% each at Rs 1,004 and Rs 1,250, respectively.
