Sensex down 412pts; Maruti surges 3%

The Sensex is now down 412 points at 17,166.

The NSE Nifty is down 129 points at 5,095.

SBI and ICICI Bank have slumped 4% each to Rs 2,024 and Rs 1,048, respectively.

ITC and Wipro have plunged 3.7% each to Rs 195 and Rs 419, respectively. BHEL and Bharti Airtel have shed 3.4% each at Rs 2,204 and Rs 798, respectively.

Reliance and Ambuja Cements have slipped over 3% each to Rs 2,379 and Rs 117, respectively.

HDFC and Infosys have dropped 2.7% each to Rs 2,726 and Rs 1,505, respectively.

Maruti has surged over 3% to Rs 895. Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 1.7% to Rs 705, and Bajaj Auto has added 1.3% to Rs 2,310.
