Sensex down 413pts; TCS up 2%

The Sensex is now down 413 points at 18,638.

Reliance Energy has slumped over 6% to Rs 1,785. NTPC and ACC have plunged around 5% each to Rs 219 and Rs 1,205, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and HDFC have tumbled around 4.5% each to Rs 778 and Rs 2,460, respectively.

SBI, ONGC and Reliance Communications have slipped over 3% each to Rs 1,844, Rs 1,128 and Rs 730, respectively.

Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, BHEL and ICICI Bank have declined 2.5% each to Rs 875, Rs 1,451, Rs 2,312 and Rs 1,118, respectively.

TCS has rallied 2.3% to Rs 1,093. Infosys has gained 1.5% at Rs 1,896.

Out of 2,595 stocks traded so far, 1,804 have declined, 731 have advanced and 60 are unchanged.
