Sensex down 41pts; breadth firm

The Sensex has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 41 points at 15,658.

Ranbaxy has zoomed 7.5% to Rs 367. Cipla has soared 3.7% to Rs 193.

Maruti has surged 3.3% to Rs 836. Satyam and Bajaj Auto have rallied over 2% each to Rs 498 and Rs 2,405, respectively.

Infosys and Reliance have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 2,027 and Rs 1,937, respectively.

Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra are up 1.3% each at Rs 736 and Rs 792, respectively.

ACC has plunged over 4% to Rs 1,025. HDFC Bank and BHEL have shed 2.8% each to Rs 1,207 and Rs 1,741, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Ambuja Cements have slipped over 2% each to Rs 925 and Rs 126, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 2,524. Grasim and ICICI Bank are down 1.4% each to Rs 2,927 and Rs 947, respectively.

Out of 2,502 stocks traded so far, 1,501 have advanced, 919 have declined and 82 are unchanged.
