Sensex down 41pts; ONGC surges 2%

The Sensex is now down 41 points at 11,989.

ONGC has surged 2% to Rs 1,366. Larsen & Toubro and Tata Steel have moved up 1.6% each to Rs 2,750 and Rs 665, respectively.

Reliance, Hindalco and HLL have spurted over 1% each to Rs 985, Rs 213 and Rs 288, respectively.

HDFC Bank has dropped nearly 4% to Rs 819. ICICI Bank has slipped over 2% to Rs 578. SBI is down over 1% at Rs 909.

Satyam has slumped 3% to Rs 784. Wipro has declined 2.7% to Rs 534.

Out of 2,409 stocks traded so far, 1,449 have moved up, 897 have declined and 63 are unchanged.
