Sensex down 41pts; REVL lists at Rs 45.70

The Sensex tumbled to a low of 10,207 - down 84 points from the day's high of 10,272. The index is now down 41 points at 10,203.

Grasim and Tata Steel are up 1.7% each at Rs 1,663 and Rs 427, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja, SBI and ACC have gained 1.5% each at Rs 86, Rs 865 and Rs 600, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's has declined nearly 2% to Rs 1,337. Hero Honda has shed 1.7% to Rs 892.

ONGC, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Auto, ITC, HLL, Satyam, Wipro and Cipla have dropped over 1% each.

The market breadth is slightly negative. Out of 2,283 stocks traded so far, 1,228 have declined, 958 have advanced and 97 are unchanged.

Reliance Energy Ventures (REVL) got listed today. The stock opened at Rs 45.70, and touched a high of Rs 46, before tumbling to a low of Rs 42.90. The stock is presently trading at Rs 44.35. Every shareholder holding 100 shars of the company would get 7.5 Reliance Energy shares.

UTI Bank leads the value chart with a turnover of Rs 361.86 crore followed by Inox (Rs 40.15 crore), Tata Steel (Rs 39.49 crore), Jet (Rs 35.38 crore) and Reliance (Rs 27.51 crore).

UTI Bank also tops the volume chart with trades of around 1.14 crore shares followed by REVL (60.81 lakh), IFCI (26.01 lakh), Inox (21.93 lakh) and SAIL (20.31 lakh).
